The Three Laws of Performance

In my opinion, this book can be put into the category of extraordinary in management field,in which few books exist. In most of the management books, it is explained some theories, shown several ways to follow, given different advices in order to manage the issues  better mostly in business life and some of them  are applicable even in private life.Although there are many examples from the real life,in general, they are mostly theoratical materials rather than being practical guidelines. It is always tried to show how those theories can work in real life by supporting them with diversified real examples which usually take place at the end of each chapter.

For me,this book is quite different to that ones described above,as in which the theories are derived from practices, experiences. That is why, there is no need to prove how functional they can be in real cases.

When we face with a problem, our first action, meaning our approach to the issue, plays a key role.If we think that it can't be resolved, we can't pass the next step ,exactly like getting a "NO " response in a flowchart of a transaction.Of course, thinking positively can't guarantee us 100 percent success, but leads us to think about the problem, try found methods, rethink when the results are negative, use our capacity more and even in some cases create something extraordinary which is accepted as impossible in the context of classical thinking. The other important behavior is how we speak to people.I know wery well from my experience that although the result is the same, people's perception, reaction is quite different-from very satisfied to completely disappointed- depending on how I contact them even when I use the same words, but my bodylanguage changes. The last one is to think for the next step, meaning for the future. It is a very well-known fact that,we should benefit from our experiences while making plans for the future, but if we don't add anything to it, we can just describe the present situation and prevent us from making the previous mistakes, nothing more. The right way is to use our background and also improve our opinions, thinkings to establish a future strategy, which should be in compliance with the changing condtions of the world from all aspects, for better performance in our business,in our personal life.Last, but not least,we always have to update it since all the things are changing very rapidly nowadays.

  1. Dear Turan
I agree with you. The method that the book follows very good and classification method very effective. Again this is a book which is not concerned with ‘explanation’,‘theories’ or ‘understanding’, but with performance as leader , manager, director and so on.
