‘The Dragonfly Effect‘, a wonderful guide for how individuals, organizations, and companies can use social media to propel change. By using this metaphor and based on a real world cases he discovered that there is a four step process to start change movements on the internet which are : Focus ,Grab Attention, Engage and Take action . By analyzing the extraordinary story of Bhatia, the authors emphasize the importance of setting a clear goal, grabbing the attention by presenting a personal and unexpected message, after that we have to create a personal connection by telling a story. At the end we have to create some mechanisms to empower others to take action.

The examples of this ordinary people that have achieved unimaginable results through the social media shows clearly that being all together for a same purpose for sure will help to go further and faster.

    I agree with you that real word cases shown in the book illustrate very good how to start a change movement using the internet.
    I find it very contemporary and I think there are a lot of followers of the 4 step process in many countries these days, we can just look at Egypt, Tunisia, Spain and Greece movements.

  2. but we should be aware even for the negative effect that the usage of social media has. sometimes non reliable information comes into surface very rapidly, that there is no time to convince others for the opposite.
