Billion of Entrepreneurs: How China and India Are Reshaping Their Futures--and Yours

The book title talks about the reshaping of the future of these two countries and ours so, for this post I will try to explain the effect China and India has in the Albanian economy. I will start with China as I know some more details about this country, considering that Albania and this country had a fraternal relation during the communist regime (60’s). Many public works have been constructed from Chinese people, the equipment and machineries were produced there in that time.  After 90’s the trade between Albania and China has been active. The Albanian businesses have imported products, from dry goods to turbines for hydropower, iron for construction, mobile and electronic devices. Actually China is one of the biggest suppliers for Albania businesses and the market is growing. The main reason is the price they offer. The problem is always the quality of the products they import here.  Meanwhile Albanian businesses are not yet trading aggressively with India as China, maybe because India is focused in soft (according to the book). Even India is not present directly in Albania, this country might affect indirectly the local economy. I remember, that one month before the crisis started, I was in a meeting with the biggest wheat importer in Albania. In that time the wheat prices was almost doubled as compared to the beginning of the year. According to him the main reason of such an increase was only, because India has started to import bigger quantities of wheat so the offer was lower as compared to the demand. Maybe it doesn’t make sense as an argument but considering the population of India I agree with him.
