This book is composed of several examples from the lives successful people which try to illustrate the importance of hard work in order to reach success.
The 10000 hours rule was very striking. It says that ten thousand hours of dedication to a field will make you excel at that field. I believe this expression to be true. As people say practice makes perfect.
This book reminds me of the well-known cyclist Lance Armstrong and his life. In 1995 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He quit cycling for 3 years, defeated cancer, and came back winning Tour de France 7 times in a row. People were often suspicious of him using doping but his reply to them was:
Suddenly everybody wants to know what I'm on.
What am I on? I'm on my bike for six hours a day. What are you on?

I'd like to quote the autor of the book.
YanıtlaSilNo one actually remembers our failures more than we do. But fighting with failure demons does give us an important skill that will ultimately boost our ability to bounce. Forget the outcomes. Forget about bouncing back to any particular place. Just bounce. pg38
Hi Ergys,
YanıtlaSilI like your comment, to me the point of the book is inspiring people work harder in order to achieve success. So the author is making a point that we need to practice a lot to be perfect in what we aim to be, and we shouldn't be discouraged by failures.
