Unfortunately I missed the presentation of the professor for this book, so I was reading the people review that has read “Changing minds” in order to understand the idea Gardner wanted to give. The author mentioned 7 levers, which I like to call 7 R of Leadership like 7 P of Marketing, as key factors for changing our and others minds. The latest one is a very difficult process so in my opinion most or all of the 7 R are needed that someone changes his mind. People tend to be resistant to their ideas or opinions sometimes because of the custom and sometimes because of the comfort they might have in that moment. Once this comfort is not anymore, a person might change his mind dramatically. So, according to me many times the life events tend to affect people's opinion.
Also there are persons that have the capability to change the others mind within a meeting and in an amazing way. I would like to mention an example from my own experience for the above. Three years ago, my former boss and I had a meeting with a client that was upset and he came with a clear idea of moving all his business to another institution. After the meeting the customer was happy to stay again with us only because of my former boss approach. I was new in that position and I was also astonished of his outcome. Only a few people have the capability of acting as good leaders, in my opinion.
