During this two semesters I have written the comments for the following books: “In Pursuit of Elegance”, “Switch”, “How to change the world; social entrepreneurs and the power of new ideas” and “Three laws of performance, rewriting the future of your organizations and your life” and while I was reading the review of the book “Made to stick”, I was thinking that all this book are so similar to each other and are giving a lot of ideas in a simple way, in order to be remembered from everybody. Despite the book “Switch” and “Made to stick” that are written from the same authors, the others are written from different authors, but the stories have the same meaning and they are so simple, powerful and sticky. What I have understood is that all these books are avoiding complexity, abstract and are focused in true stories, in order to have a lasting impact to the reader. Even in the book “Made to stick” the authors are focused in giving the method of learning to create sticky ideas by a simple way, consecutively the audience to remember it . This is done by six concepts so easy to be remembered:
- Simple Ideas
- Unexpected
- Concrete
- Credible
- Emotional
- Stories
And in the epilogue the authors are giving the message of spotting the ideas could be as helpful as creating them.
I also share the same opinon with you. All the books are trying to be sticky with the ideas that they want to share and for this reason they use stories and anecdots. But "Made to Stick" is like explaining what stands in the "backstage".

YanıtlaSilI also think these books have many things in common and they are ideas that worth sticking in peoples minds. Above all I cherish simplicity in the way authors write, which makes the books very comprehensive.
i think that the first who have to use MADE TO STICK idea are the writers, because they have to make people like the book.As we may see they have achieved their mission, they made us stick to their books......
YanıtlaSilas I mentioned even in another book, being clear and simple is the key factor of success. The more we complicate the comunication and the action, the more difficult and complicated it will be for achieving positive results.
