In pursuit of elegance

This book makes us think and change the way we see things. The author gives examples of elegance, its power and its simplicity, how leaving something out or simplifying something and eliminating extra un-necessary information can make it easier to comunicate and act in the wolrd. he focuses in four concepts: symetri, seduction, substraction and sustainability. he gives an argument about a busy traffic circle in the Netherlands where all the traffic signs are removed but the circle area is paved in red brick. In that place where oce were numerous accidents, traffic now flows smoothly, relying on people's common sense and attention, rather than relying in multiple signs.

  1. Hi Elda,
The message of the book is that elegance can be found on 4 elements symetri, seduction, substraction and sustainability. The key concept is that all elements should blend together for elegance to be achieved. You think the message of the author is so simple, but it requires creative and logical thinking to achieve the balance among four elements and that's why elegance is so scarce.
