In this book, the author describes how India and China are reshaping the global economy. He talked about most of difference and similarities but more focused on the China and India’s economy growth. Deep historic ties between China and India are presented by the author, including trade ties, and intellectual and cultural exchanges, and the “mutualism” situation for China and India is discussed. He pointed that both two countries have complementary strengths, one nation can provide what the other lacks.
An interesting insight is given into how the private sector-led entrepreneurs in India and government-led entrepreneurs in China are leading the economic and social development in these two countries. He cites examples of failures and successes of various home grown companies. The book also discusses in depth the successes and failures of multinationals in understanding and working in both these economies. Considering that the author is an experienced lecturer at Harvard Business School and that he is of Indian origin, the book is quite successful in giving a multicultural analysis to various issues discussed in the book.
Reading this book, will give you the possibility to create an good understating of how India and China are actually changing the world economy, through new business models and social revolutions, and at the same time bringing hope to billions of people. This is a must read for anyone who aspires to know more about the shift happening in the global economy. As Khanna states in the book “India’s and China’s success is shaping and will continue to shape the world our children will inherit”. "Billions of Entrepreneurs" is it not just a book about entrepreneurship but rather about a broad range of cultural, social, historical and economic subjects involving and contrasting China and India.
