Bounce

I remember from the review of this book that the author idea to be successful was practice, practice, practice. In my opinion this is a very good idea, however I think that having talent is also important in performing especially sport, music or art. Maybe Moxart had trained a lot to play violin when he was a little child, but I think, it is needed the ability and also the huge aspiration, to be a great composer. The same for Picasso or Beckham and others, without the inner enthusiasm, the talent and also the huge perform they would not make history.  Somebody should have all the above elements in order to be famous. According to me if you have only one without the others you would be good in performing something but not perfect.

agree that parent should push their small children in experiencing new stuff, such as play violin, play basketball or attending different courses, but I also believe that first they should understand the children’s wish. I heard very often that parents tend to send their children to courses that they have missed to attend when they were small kids. If this is only the parent interest and not the child’s one, the latest after a while will not like to attend it anymore.

I would like to end with an interesting quote:
“Well I did try that …several times. As Murphy’s laws say…there is nothing as easy as it seems. There is always something that can come up as the "surprise" element or the unexpected detail. However, once you started practicing and doing a certain thing over and over again, you might have encountered just about all those things that could eventually go wrong. That’s why, you know now what to expect and you certainly can give a piece of valuable "hands on" advice when the case.”

  1. Dear Glenda,
I absolutely agree that you can't become Mozart by practicing. You can be a good professional. What I want to add is that to be famous is not always to be talented and on the contrary. How many genius or just talented people don't we know? A lot of people from province have extraordinary abilities(without practice, let me mention)and people know nothing about them.

  2. Hi Glenda,

Nice perception of the book, as a base of your words I wanted to add a sentence that took my attention while reading: If you don’t know what you are doing wrong, you can never know what you are doing right...

So, by practice, practice and practice we get to know what is doing wrong and what is doing right.
