FUTURE AGENDA : THE WORLD IN 2020

To learn what human being is expecting from the future, it would be enough to watch some of the latest science fiction movies. One of these film I have in mind is Idiocracy, which is is a film where the main two actors travel in the future after being implemented a medical experiment. The two main actors wake up after 500 years. During this period human being has reached the peak of technology, but after reaching the peak of everything, they had started working on empty things and idiotism has affected everyone. The people were experiencing a social chaos. The cleverest two, were the couple who traveled in time. Hospital electronic system was completely changed. Every sickness was being dicovered only by using a single button sccording to the people's complaint. Everyone’s IQ has descended in maximum. The new challenges of human being were IQ problems, like ‘How to plant grain’ and other easy issues like that. The interesting part of the film was that very easy things were now very hard things. The main idea of the movie seems to be ‘Technology makes the people lazy, and makes their IQ go down’. In my opinion this scenario has a very real part of the truth in it. Because technology keeps the people away from learning in practice, because technology fills a serius part of the people's life. Technology brings laziness to the human brain.
But of course this is just one of the spects. I prefered to treat this issue only on this regard.

  2. I've watched that movie too Nihal I enjoyed especially the first ten minutes because they were the minutes the idea was introduced.
I agree with the idea that technology makes people lazy, but it actually strongly depends in individuals in my opinion.
If we were used to doing smth and now the technology covers it for us, we must have the will and the courage to shift in dealing with other tasks. It will prevent us from being lazy.

The movie was showing all the great technologies and stuff but wasn't showing the great minds who were designing and planning them.

  3. Dear Nihal,
I haven't watched this film but I also think it depends.I like Nokia's slogan "connecting people" but do they really connect? Physically-yes, but spiritually- I am not sure. There are better "connectors" such as heartbeat, embrace or prayer. Whatever happens in the world of technology these values will not disappear, at least for people who believe in them.
