We all know about the explosive growth of social media in the last years. Taking for example, Facebook, Twitter etc, they have changed the way how people relate to each other. But in most of the cases we are aware of their power but don’t know how to use them effectively.
The book aims to teach us how to achieve our vision in a natural way. The metaphor of "Dragonfly" is very appropriate as this insect is the only one that can fly in all directions when all four wings are working together and these four wings represent four models: Focus, Grab Attention, Engage, and Take Action. Anyway the book does not serve as a “manual” for teaching how to use social media effectively, but it gives practical examples of how social media can be used for achieving social change. The emphasis is put on the fact that “the most important thing is the story told and the relationship built, not the tools of social technology themselves”.
Dear Ornela,
YanıtlaSilI completely agree with the idea that the book was written in order to give "practical examples of how social media can be used for achieving social change".
The importance of STORY has been mentioned a lot during this semester.
YanıtlaSilI totally agree with you when you say that not all of us know how to use the social networks efficiently and effectively in order make use completely of the power they have. i find the metaphor of dragonfly very appropriate to illustrate best the power of social medias.
