What got you here won’t get you there

I loved this book starting from its intriguing title and finishing with the context itself. I loved it because it was written for everybody who wants to have a taste of Success all the time no matter what job or position he/she has. We got accustomed that business people do not speak in such an open but gentle  manner as Goldsmith does. We usually read what we should do to be successful but the author tells us about “don’t” and “traps”. Besides he gives advice of seven steps how to avoid them.
While reading the book I was thinking that it was written specially for me, I analyzed situations from the past and said to myself: Oh, my, I had known about those traps but why was I again captured? Definitely I have to change something. In myself.
Actually, this book is a kind of ethical code for everybody who wants  to succeed in an honest way. My favorite idea from this book was “ a healthy organization is the one that is open and honest enough to nip problems in the bud.” It reminded me of motherhood and teaching when the fruits of the tree depend on healthy roots. It is true.

  2. A very poetic summary Olga but a good one anyway. It feels like all these business books are made for us but the truth is that being human means that we all tend to do the same mistakes soon or later and then when we find these mistakes in books looks like we knew them......
    Nice and simple .

  3. Thank you Olga, as for many of you, this book was a kind of "dejavu" for me as well. Sometimes, when we do msitakes by ourselves, it feels like they are only our own, unique, but after reading this book we realize, that these mistakes are in human nature. Therefore to look from the outside point of view and accept it is a good beginning to fight our bad habits.
