Vittorio Colao writes his opinions and makes predictions,estimations about all the main,important subjects by going into details.He mainly takes today's facts,statistics,tendencies as the basis and plus his foreseeing while trying to determine how the world will look like in the year of 2020.
In general,I agree with his opinions, predictions and I find them very precise, realistic, but for me, there is a misssing point.He usually doesn't take into consideration the other side of the medal.For example, when he makes estimation about the world population,life expectancy,he doesn't mention about the negative effects of prospective natural disasters,climate change,new deadly diseases owing to using nuclear energy,high-tech communication products,increase of carbon emission and pollution,starvation, etc.However, those subjects are always expressed openly by the scientists and moreover we have already started to see their effects incerasingly day by day.Of course, noboby knows exactly when and how big natural disasters will occur and how some existing events, threats will effect the future of the world,but it was possible to include some estimated figures as he did for some other things which mostly reflect prospective positive changes.
In fact, to see only the positive side of something is a commonly accepted behavior by human being.For instance, when scientists say something good ,we believe in it,but mostly don't believe in it if it is something bad even though it has been proved by evidence,real cases.May be, for this reason, the author also does not mention about the prospective results of most probable bad things and does not include them when makes predictions for 2020.
The human kind history has told us..that man is able to adapt with the nature..So maybe we will not eat organic food,but we will be more healthy than our parents.Our children may not go to the best schools,but surely the best schools will come to our houses via internet..and they will be more smart..Surely some resources may not be found any more,but human kind will invent something better.
