This is a book about leadership and qualities leaders need to move on in their life. The book is about successful people that have already made it. However as the title of the book says what got them to succeed once will not get them where they aim. The author lists also 20 " bad habits " of the successful people in the workplace that need to be avoided. I must say the author's list includes behavioral mistakes that we get to see very often from colleagues or bosses and avoiding that kind of behaviour for me consist in improving the work relationship and gaining the respect of colleagues or subordinates which all leaders and everyone needs.
It is human for us to make mistakes and noone expects perfect people with perfect qualities and behaviour. What I keep from this book is the change, author's 7 steps to improve the behaviour and change for better:

STEP 3 ADVERTISE
STEP 4 LISTEN ATTENTIVELY
STEP 5 EXPRESS GRATITUDE
STEP 6 FOLLOW UP
STEP 7 FEED FORWARD
These 7 steps are really important to be able to realize and improve our weaknesses. As you said no body is perfect and I'm sure in the future we will need these advises. We should keep them in our mind.
