There is no denying that both China and India are now having success in advancing their economies and that a driving force in their economic growth is their private sectors.
The author gives an interesting insight into how the private sector-led entrepreneurs in India and government-led entrepreneurs in China are leading the economic and social development in these two countries. He discusses in depth the successes and failures of multinationals in understanding and working in both these economies. His teaching experience at Harvard Business School and for more his Indian origin, made him succeed in giving a multicultural analysis to various issues discussed in the book. India and China are actually changing the world, through new business models and social revolutions.
Khanna ends his preface of the book by saying that “India’s and China’s success is shaping and will continue to shape the world our children will inherit”.
\It is very interesting to read a book that forecasts the future and identifies two nations that are in the process of reshaping their future that will affect ours as well. Although the author has placed these two countries equally in the title of the book, within the book it does not analyze them in parallel but he juxtaposes them and writes a comparative book for these countries in order to emphasize the distinction and similarities in their reshaping process of the future to understand best the forecasting results.
